THE MIND OF ARTENAUTI PROJECT
Born in Venice on 10 September 1932: into a high-class bourgeois family, Giorgio Amoretti spent his childhood in the hubbub of the Second World War, raised by a generation of fathers and teachers who were not inclined to play and imagination.
His life is marked by two particularly significant episodes: one is the death of his best friend, which occurred before his eyes during an aerial bombing while they were going to school. The other, also linked to school, presents itself as an apparently harmless task that Giorgio found himself performing at the age of eight. The theme was entitled “Purposes” and he wrote as follows:
“… I would also like to go around a lot to get to know the customs and people who inhabit this land and to get a precise idea of this world.
I would also like to fly to be able to experience the charm of infinity and get an idea of the size and beauty of the sky.
I would like to sail to see this immense expanse of water that covers more than half the surface of the earth and to be able to see its inhabitants. But unfortunately I’m afraid that this dream will never come true.
Finally, I wish I could learn to climb the mountains and find myself face to face with the infinite. “
THE MASTER’S WRITTEN COMMENT WAS AS FOLLOWS:
The master’s written comment was as follows:
“These are fantastic desires, not serious intentions. Do it again! “
His whole life will be a successful attempt to oppose that “DO IT AGAIN!” and, in fact, he fulfills his childhood intentions one by one.
